Whilst I was away on my Christmas cruise, the last of the spring-powered field guns that I ordered for my FUNNY LITTLE WARS project arrived. I now have:
The unboxed models are all 'used', and will need some care and attention (including a new coat of paint). Once that has been done, I will set about finding some crew figures to go with the guns.
- 1 x 4.7-inch Medium Gun
- 4 x 18-pounder Field Guns

Paul's Bods,
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying planning my FLW armies, and especially finding old model guns like these at reasonable prices.
I hope to get some more in due course.
All the best,
Bob
Well you know how this ex-artilleryman feels
ReplyDeleteabout this subject,one
can never have too many
guns!A splendid little
battery!
Don M,
ReplyDeleteBoth my father and maternal grandfather were gunners ... and my wife's family were gunners right back when the Royal Artillery Regiment was founded ... so I know what you mean!
All the best,
Bob
If you are still in the market for artillery, I recommend the Britains Gun of the Royal Horse arty. model (I elieve that is what is was called). I have found that it is superior in range, accuracy and hitting power to my 4.7 inch.
ReplyDeleteCraigSpiel,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recommendation. My Britains 4.7-inch is not is top condition, and tests show that it is not much better than my Crescent 18-pounder.
I will look out for the gun you recommend, and if one comes up, I will buy it.
All the best,
Bob
