The locals would have run him out of town for using another manufacturer's machine.

Seriously, I understand that the Matchless had a devoted following, and that they were regarded as being amongst the best motorcycles in the world.

All the best,

BobRobert (Bob) Corderyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13109130990434792266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6933470253715910366.post-6957573546204887492014-09-04T14:35:25.699+01:002014-09-04T14:35:25.699+01:00Whichever engine, it is a lovely machine :0)

He lived in Plumstead when younger so I guess the Matchless was a natural choice, he certainly got around on it. Must have covered much of the UK on it! We saw one once at a bike show, lovely machine.

Lee.'Lee.https://www.blogger.com/profile/02728400013024811279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6933470253715910366.post-42399475755626363562014-09-03T19:07:53.428+01:002014-09-03T19:07:53.428+01:00I don't think that is a Gold Star engine, Bob....I don't think that is a Gold Star engine, Bob.
