(She used to work for Warner Brothers and we were able to visit most cinemas for free to see matinee showings of older films.)

Once I discovered old copies of the Sherlock Holmes stories in my school's library I was hooked ... and I have been ever since. I think that it was my love of Sherlock Holmes stories that made me aware of other late nineteenth/early twentieth century writers (Anthony Hope, Rider Haggard, John Buchan, Joseph Conrad, H G Wells, Rudyard Kipling etc.) and writers who set their novels during that period (Boris Akunin, David Dickinson).

My wife - on the other hand - prefers Agatha Christie, P D James, Ruth Rendell, and Reginal Hill.

All the best,

BobRobert (Bob) Corderyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13109130990434792266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6933470253715910366.post-53091132263029418122012-12-27T11:01:21.585+00:002012-12-27T11:01:21.585+00:00I never knew you were a Sherlock Holmes enthusiast...I never knew you were a Sherlock Holmes enthusiast.
