Why We (Cannot) Fight*

As I have recently mentioned on my blog, Sue and I are having our main bedroom completely renovated. It is being decorated, having a new carpet fitted, and we have bought a complete new set of bedroom furniture. To do this, we have moved the existing furniture into our guest bedroom ... and the contents of that bedroom has been either given away to charities or stored.

The top floor of our house is the location of our former home office and my toy/wargame room ... and they have been 'requisitioned' for use as storage until the bedroom renovation is complete. As a result, they now look like this:

Above and below: My toy/wargame room being used for storage.
Our former home office being used for storage.

As will be painfully obvious, my toy/wargame room is unusable at present and likely to remain so for some time to come. I do have plans to try to overcome this problem ... but I have not idea if they will come to fruition.

* For those of my regular blog readers that are unaware, WHY WE FIGHT was a series of seven propaganda films produced by the US Department of War from 1942 to 1945. They were originally made to be shown to members of the United States armed forces to explain why the country was involved in the Second World War. but they were later shown to civilian audiences as well.

  1. This is what they mean by "real life got in the way" (of wargame plans.

    1. Thistlebarrow,

It's the best way to describe the current situation in our house.

      All the best,

  2. Today is a perfect storm for us. My boys have started summer break and they want to have friends over to play WH40K, we are having work done in our bedroom, and my wife (who usually works from home) has to find a place to work. Looks like she has to go in to the office today.

    1. Mr. Pavone,

I totally sympathise with the situation you and your family find yourselves in. Hopefully, we'll all come out of the other end of this soon!

      All the best,

      Bob

    1. Geordie an Exile FoG,

But are you willing to share it? (Joking aside, you never realise just how much stuff you own until you have to move it.)

      All the best,

      Bob

  4. It does appear to be pinched for space.

    1. Pancerni,

That is somewhat of an understatement! The space not in use for storage is VERY tight.

      All the best,

      Bob
