Morschauserland versus Fezia! Cool.
Yea...Hi Bob,

Morschauserland versus Fezia! Cool.

Years ago when I ran a Victorian-Sci-Fi campaign of sorts for several years, my natives were Afghan/Sudanese types lead by the evil Sheik Fizzle. A very dangerous man. Another independent piratical type was Tastiman the Despicable. An even more dangerous rogue.

Perhaps they have cousins in Fezia?

And stop bringing up Colonial stuff. I really liked it when I was playing that era. Wait! I need a another project, I mean, a new project to get my hobby juice flowing again. Let's see, hmmm, 15 or 25. Hmmm. Done both before. Want battles and skirmishes. Hmmm...

I have these cool rules by some guy name Cordery, called "Redcoats and Natives" and "SCWaRes" and some of my own and "The Sword and the Flame," of course.

Dang it. Here we go. Again.

What a terrible problem to have. Lots of rules, Lots of figures, lots of terrain. Ah, life is good!

Happy gaming!

JimJim Wrighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11549600020726569568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6933470253715910366.post-24223555996006414242010-01-01T12:19:13.720+00:002010-01-01T12:19:13.720+00:00Ross Mac,

The fact that they did not is in no small part due to the roll of the dice ... but that is what makes wargaming more interesting than chess!

I am taking a bit of a rest from 'modern' wargaming for the moment, but I have already drafted a revised version of my adaptation of Morschauser's 'Modern' Period Wargames Rules for the late 19th century. It was - in fact - quite easy, and I hope to have them on the blog later today, and play-tested as soon as possible thereafter.

So watch out for the war between Morschauserland and a new enemy - Fezia!

All the best,

BobRobert (Bob) Corderyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13109130990434792266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6933470253715910366.post-81144739842596447312010-01-01T11:54:50.385+00:002010-01-01T11:54:50.385+00:00Down to the wire (so to speak). I'm not sure the defences had 1/2 the effect of the sudden drop in the ability of the Esstlanders to hit their target initially. Their rolls seem to have been more average than in the first games. I look foward to the next game.
-RossRoss Mac rmacfa@gmail.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04053555991679802013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6933470253715910366.post-33214501538006221662009-12-31T19:14:06.993+00:002009-12-31T19:14:06.993+00:00Mad Carew,

Maybe the idea bucket is temporarily empty.

The dark ages game is "mostly" done as you mentioned. Nothing really original in it. Tested it with counters. I need to grid off a piece of felt and rebase figures to try it out on my gaming friends.

I think I am having an attack of "gaming block." Nothing interests me at the moment. I have a pile of book on the bronze age to read, but haven't started yet. I just need a kick in the pants.

I have been playing a little Commands and Colors. I enjoyed that. An interesting game system. A couple of DBA book 3 armies want to be painted. And uncharacteristly for me, I find myself looking at sci-fi stuff lately. Always been an "ancients" or "ancient regimes" guy. Hmmm.

Getting older. Maybe my game-o-meter is acting up.

I'm sure the New Year will bring me some much needed inspiration.

Ever forward.

Happy New Year!

JimJim Wrighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11549600020726569568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6933470253715910366.post-78628025414434337592009-12-30T23:35:42.906+00:002009-12-30T23:35:42.906+00:00Jim,

It is also surprising how much action you can fit onto a 3-foot/90cm square of green felt!

I must admit that I was hoping that the Morschauserlanders would win this battle, but was very doubtful that they would. As it was they had some lucky breaks with ‘who moves first’, Fire Combat, and ‘hit effect’ dice scores. I might just try another battle out sometime in the not too distant future to se if the now fully mobilised Morschauserland Army can eject the Eastlanders completely. After all, the Eastlanders only have one Tank Unit left and the Morschauserlanders have just acquired a whole new batch of tanks and armoured vehicles.

My next project will probably be to modify the basic Morschauser rules for the 19th century. This is likely to involve the use of 15mm figures and 2-inch/50mm squares, therefore allowing me to use the armies for WEC as well!

All the best,

Bob

PS. How is your own wargame design work coming along? The last draft you sent me to read looked pretty well finished and ready fro very serious play-testing.Robert (Bob) Corderyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13109130990434792266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6933470253715910366.post-26046876412582902042009-12-30T21:24:21.372+00:002009-12-30T21:24:21.372+00:00Bob,
