The recent responses to my blog entries about imagi-nations and imaginary wars set during the interwar period has made me wonder if a separate blog dedicated to this area of interest might be worth setting up.
What I envisage is a co-operative blog, run something along the lines of the Emperor v Elector blog. Comments (and expressions of interest in helping run such a blog) would be welcome.

As a practical matter, if you are thinking along the lines of EvE, then you will want a separate group blog.
ReplyDeleteWhen you have multiple authors, a personal blog can become lost . . . so you do not want to combine the group blog into your personal blog.
While this is a project that doesn't interest me, that does not mean that you shouldn't do it.
If there's interest, go for it!

Hi Bob, Count me in - I am happy to oblige. This will help my won 'imagi-nation' aspirations although my own efforts will be set just prior to WW1 initially.
ReplyDeleteAll the best,
Ogre
Bluebear Jeff,
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly what I was thinking about doing. I am not quite sure how to do it ... but I think that it might be worth trying to get it off the ground if the interest is strong enough.
All the best,
Bob
Bob,
ReplyDeletemaybe to reach a wider audience ou may post this question on TMP -on the 'Blogs of War" forum, crossposted to the WW2 ones?
Ogrefencer,
ReplyDeleteThat makes two votes for so far (yours and mine).
All the best,
Bob
Abdul666,
ReplyDeleteA good idea. I will try to do this later today (work allowing!).
All the best,
Bob
Just presented -in a more general context- your idea, with a link to this post, on several TMP boards.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Jean-Louis
P.S. The Gran Chaco war appears in Tintin's 'Broken ear' as the 'Gran Chapo' (phonetically 'large hat') one between Nuevo Rico and San Theodoros...
Abdul666,
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing this. I had planned to do something along these line last night ... then this morning ... but work and life just got in the way!
All the best,
Bob
PS. Tintin is an excellent source of ideas for the 1930s. See
I blame Hergé for my interest in the Chaco War
Count me in as a potential recruit...
ReplyDeletebest wishes
Alan
Tradgardmastare,
ReplyDeleteThat now makes four of us! A couple more and I will give it a go!
All the best,
Bob
I guess it will not be too difficult to enlist Borduria... Add one or two players of the British Civil War, and here you are.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Jean-Louis
Unfortunately Monte-Cristo, like Atlantis, Ys and Lyonesse before, sunk under the waves -during the French Revolution, and thus amidst general indifference and to total oblivion. Most of the survivors took refuge in the pleasant and genial kingdom of Trypheme, where the young and fair followed in their (lack of) dress the same fashion as in Monte-Cristo. But this merry country in turn sank in the Mediterranean Sea -fittingly, in early august 1914, at the very end of the 'Belle Epoque'...
ReplyDeleteAbdul666,
ReplyDeleteEven if there are only six or so members, it sounds like it might be worth giving it a go.
As to your second comment, it seems to me that there is a large amount of French 'imagi-nation' fiction out there that is virtually unknown in England. Thanks for making me aware of it; I will looking at the links you included as soon as I can.
All the best,
Bob
My apologies for the delay in replying. I could not agree more - anything from the period 1871 - 1930 works for me, and earlier or later as well.

The nation of Alcovia stands ready to join in the fun. No miniatures as yet, but plenty of ideas.
ReplyDeletePaul W and Eli Arndt,
ReplyDeleteI have prepared a blog that will be called INTERBELLUM. I hope to launch it as a place where people/members can keep each other up-to-date with regard to the events in their interwar imagi-nations.
I will announce its launch sometime over the coming weekend, and will add contributors as and when they request to join.
All the best,
Bob
Long Live Laurania!
