Memoir '14

No, that is not a typographical error! The title does read MEMOIR '14.

MEMOIR '14 is a development of Richard Borg's MEMOIR '44 so that the early battles of the First World War can be re-fought. Grégory Privat of the Gloranthan Army blog wrote the variant, and has produced a stunning booklet that contains the statistics you need for World War I Units, a section on the impact different terrain has on combat, and a complete set of relevant Command Cards.

The booklet has now been translated from French into English, and is available in PDF format as a free download from the Gloranthan Army blog.

PS. I did experience a few problems downloading the PDF, but I persisted, and the effort was worth it! The production values of this booklet put the rest of us to shame!

  1. Hi Bob,

Very interesting I must say - I suspect you will be looking long and hard and some of the ideas presented here!

    All the best,

    DC

  2. David Crook,

It was very interesting in several ways. I am working forwards in time from BATTLE CRY, and he has worked backwards from MEMOIR '44. Surprisingly (or not) were have arrived at similar (but not identical) ideas.

    All the best,

    Bob

  3. I was looking at it and thinking that HAT have just released some very fine early war French and Prussians.

Then of course, I realised that starting a new period would be madness...

    ...madness, I tell you.

  4. Conrad Kinch,

You are quite right. That path leads to madness ... but isn't a little bit of insanity what makes us sane?

Good luck with your new project ...

    All the best,

    Bob
