Back to normal?

Blogger seems to be working again after it's recent extended outage. At least one blog entry is still missing, as are some of the comments blog readers have made, but Blogger says that they should be restored in due course.

The outage has made me realise how much I enjoy writing my blog ... and how much reading other people's blogs has become a part of my daily routine. I hope that the technical problems that caused the outage are now fixed, and that normal service can be resumed as soon as possible.

  1. Same here Bob. Let's hope it's all sorted out now.

  2. I'm the same Bob - I thoroughly enjoy my daily perusal of a range of blogs and I too seem to be 'one down'.
Hope the 40 or so remaining days pass as painlessly as possible.

  3. Steve's Wargame Stuff,

We can but hope that this was just a 'one off', but with computer systems, you never know ...

    All the best,

    Bob

  4. Jfidz,

Things seem to be returning to normal, but rather slowly, which would indicate that whatever went wrong was quite serious.

Mind you, when things are up and running properly, we will all have a bit of catching up to do!

I am having a day off next Wednesday, so I now have thirty nine days left ... and counting! I suspect that they will not be painless, but - so we are told -there is no gain without pain, and I have a lot to gain.

    All the best,

    Bob

  6. It was a bit like having the electricity go out. I was surprised how isolated I suddenly felt when I could neither post nor read updates! Not that I couldn't have called or emailed friends directly but It drove home how much of my hobby/wargames community is now an e-community.

  7. Tradgardmastare,

I must admit that I felt a bit 'lost' without my daily 'dose' of blog reading. It was quite disconcerting.

    All the best,

    Bob

  8. Ross Mac,

Your comment sums it up rather well. It is not until something is not available to you that you suddenly realise how much a part of your life it has become.

I hope that you are feeling better now.

    All the best,

    Bob

  9. Totally agree. I must have checked blogger 20 or 30 times yesterday in the hope it had been restored... I needed my fix!

  10. BigLee,

It is amazing how much blogging has become such a part of our (wargaming) lives, and how much we depend upon the mutual support and information it gives us.

Let's hope that Blogger does not experience this sort of outage again.

    All the best,

    Bob
