Two milestones on one day

I could not have done a better job had I planned it ... but I didn't!

This is my 1,000th blog entry ... and it is also the day when the 'hit' counter on my blog reached 200,000!

Two major milestones reached on one day ... and only a few days before COW2011 starts and I retire from full-time teaching.

    Congratulations, Bob!

It seemed appropriate to double the "congrats" . . . both well deserved, sir.

  2. Hi Bob,

Many congratulations on those very big numbers!

I hope the next 1,000 entries will continue to be as interesting and inspiring.

Enjoy both COW and the retirement - you have certainly earned both!

    All the best,

    DC

  4. David Crook,

As long as people keep reading my blog, I will keep writing it … and hopefully I will be able to keep readers amused, informed, and entertained.

In many ways I cannot wait for the weekend … but to adapt the quote from L P Hartley’s THE GO-BETWEEN, ‘The future is a foreign country; I will do things differently there.’

    All the best,

    Bob

  5. Tradgardmastare,

Many thanks. I am looking forward to retirement ... but I have already had enquiries about my availability to do the odd bit of work here and there, so it might not be a full-time retirement quite yet!

    All the best,

    Bob

  6. Well done indeed! I suspect that one of the secrets of a good blog is that it is updated regularly - and you certainly do that. Always enjoy reading it. All the best!

  7. AlFront,

    Many thanks for your comment.

I suspect that you are right about keeping a blog up-to-date. I try to write at least four or five time each week ... and sometimes I am able to write blog entries even more frequently.

I see my blog as my way of getting things off my chest, sorting my ideas out, and setting my plans down in written form for future reference. It is also a way for me to record the progress of various projects I am working on. For example, I have written a presentation for my session at COW2011 about the development of my PORTABLE WARGAME. By being able to look back at my blog entries, I found it very easy to put the presentation together.

    All the best,

    Bob
