A modified version of Battle Cry

In a sudden burst of enthusiasm this morning I sat down at my computer and drafted a modified version of Richard Borg's BATTLE CRY rules.

The rules are aimed at fighting battles from the earlier part of the twentieth century, and include rules that cover simple tanks and aircraft. I would like to develop my own set of Command Cards, but in the interim I hope to use either those from BATTLE CRY or MEMOIR '44.

In many ways these rules do some of the things that I had hoped my revised version of my MEMOIR OF MODERN BATTLE (MOMBAT) rules might have achieved ... but with fewer 'ifs', 'buts', and 'ors'.

  2. Arthur,

I don't know what happened this morning, but some inexplicable reason I had the idea to write these rules ... and just sat down and wrote them straight off!

All I have to do now is to play-test them ASAP.

    All the best,

    Bob

  3. This looks good, Bob. I will give them a try tonight. Last week i finished building my 8x8 grid of scenery blocks for WW1 using your refinements of Morschauser's modern rules. Maybe we are all gearing up for the WW1 Centennial?

  4. Steven Page,

Many thanks for your kind comments. I hope to play-test the rules as soon as I can, but I would appreciate any feedback.

I suppose that 2014 (and the following years) will see quite an upsurge in World War I-related wargaming.

    All the best,

    Bob
