Bobbing along

As some of my regular readers have already guessed, my wife and I have been away on yet another cruise. This one took us to various European cities so that we could visit the numerous Christmas markets therein.

It was a very different cruise from those that we usually go on ... because it actually made front page news in the UK!

Yes, we were on what THE SUN termed in one of its articles 'the vomit hell ship' ... and neither of us came down with the dreaded bug. We were not unique in avoiding the 'plague' as most people followed the very sensible precautions that were laid down by P&O ... but more about this in a forthcoming and much more detailed blog entry about the cruise.

  5. I wondered if that was the ship you'd been on! Speaking of 'vomit hell ships', I really must do some more 1/1200 scratchbuilds...

  7. Steven Page,

Both my wife and I escaped unscathed. As to any retail therapy ... well my wife did a lot, but I did none!

    Life is like that sometimes.

    All the best,

    Bob

  8. Conrad Kinch,

You could always get a job writing headlines for THE SUN if you ever give up being a guardian of the peace!

    All the best,

  10. Johntheone,

    Thanks for your best wishes.

I don't know if we were just lucky ... or the care that we took to follow the hygiene rules worked.

    All the best,

    Bob

  11. Tim Gow,

If anyone was going to be aboard the ship that had the Norovirus outbreak it was always going to be us!

I will refrain from commenting about you ship models except to say that they look better than mine!

    All the best,

    Bob

  12. Jim Duncan,

It certainly was as much 'bon' as it was 'voyage'!

    All the best,

    Bob

  13. Hi

This will of course inspire Tim Gow to name ships SS Cotch or MV Vomitarium, for example...

  14. Arthur,

Please don't give Tim Gow any more ideas! He is bound to think that is something that he ought to do.

    All the best,

    Bob
