Norway is not the cheapest place to buy anything in Europe by a long shot ... so finding a bargain is a very pleasant surprise. Whilst I was in Stavanger I visited the only model shop I have ever found in Norway ... and saw the following ROCO set on sale ...
... for 55 Kroner! That is just over £6.00/$9.00 ... and if the shop had more of them, I would have bought them.
The set (which was sold at ROCO set 383: Border Guard Set) comprises:

The set (which was sold at ROCO set 383: Border Guard Set) comprises:
- A MAN 630 L2A 5-ton radio truck
- An Auto-Union LKW 0.25-ton Munga 4x4
- A single-axle trailer
- An Alvis Saladin 6x6 armoured car
- A Unimog S404 communication truck
A bargain indeed!
ReplyDeleteGreat find! I take it they are hard plastic? They almost look like diecast models.
ReplyDeleteLee Hadley,
ReplyDeleteIf only I could find a few more like it I would be more than a little pleased.
All the best,
Bob
Ross Mac,
ReplyDeleteIt was a great find ... and they are hard plastic. ROCO have used green plastic for most of the models and grey plastic for the wheels.
All the best,
Bob
This is nostalgic. Brings back the days where I played with little green soldier men.
ReplyDeleteJiaqi Lim,
ReplyDeleteYou USED to play with little green soldier men! Some of us still do (if you count plastic 54mm-scale figures as being the same thing) ... although we would not admit it in public!
All the best,
Bob
Result! I (needless to say) have several of each of these models....
ReplyDeleteTim Gow,
ReplyDeleteI though that it was a result as well ... and I am not surprised to hear that you also have several of each model.
All the best,
Bob
I can see the headlines now in the Norwegian Model press.
ReplyDelete"Tourist buys all the toys"
Jim Duncan,
ReplyDeleteThere is a Norwegian model press!?
All the best,
Bob
A set with a Saladin! excellent & definitely a bargain!
ReplyDeleteFaxinus,
ReplyDeleteThe model of the Saladin is rather nice ... and cries out to be used!
All the best,
Bob
