A Maltese model building

During my previous cruises to the Adriatic I had bought quite a large number of small model buildings that were very suitable for use with wargames set in the Mediterranean region. On my most recent cruise I decided that enough was enough, and that I would not buy any further buildings unless they filled a gap in my existing collection. As a result I only bought one model building ... and unlike all the others, this was not purchased in Croatia but in Malta.

The model represents a typical village church, and I thought that it was ideal for my purposes because it is quite imposing without taking up too much space on the tabletop. If we ever return to Malta I will look out for other model buildings from the same manufacturer (Heritage Homes of Malta) as it appears that they make a number that are designed to go together to create a typical Maltese village.

  1. That's a very nice little village layout. I think you could use it almost anywhere in southern Europe to north Africa and even the Levant. Excellent! Imagine that associated with a fortified sea harbour somewhere along the Barbary Coast...

  2. That's a very impressive spread - one might say it would be worth to cruise to collect them!

  3. Archduke Piccolo,

I have never seen anything quite as well designed as this set of buildings. As you write, their 'style' lends itself to use almost anywhere along the northern and eastern edges of the Mediterranean.

    All the best,

  4. Conrad Kinch,

Buying the complete set would certainly be an incentive to return to Malta.

    All the best,

  5. Phil,

The individual buildings are very nice, but as a whole the village is most impressive.

    All the best,

    Bob
