I have now finished painting the first of my toy train set conversions, the armoured train (an armoured locomotive and two armoured wagons) ...
... and the railway gun (0-4-0 locomotive and railway gun).
They were painted with Humbrol matt enamel paint (Cockpit Green No.78).

ReplyDeleteThey both look splendid and I am thinking that an RCW game would be a good bet. It just goes to show what you can do with some cheap 'made in Hong Kong' plastic models and some imagination.

ReplyDeleteA Russian Civil War battle would be an ideal opportunity to use my new armoured train (I can almost hear the cheers and chant of 'Strelnikov! Strelnikov!') but I want to finish painting the rest of my conversions first.
The cost of the armoured train and railway gun was £6.00 for two toy train sets plus the cost of the odds and ends from my spares box, the glue I used, and the paint. The total was probably £10.00 or less ... which makes them very cheap indeed.
