Waterloo project update

It is now only eight days until the bicentenary of the Battle of Waterloo ... and it is fast becoming apparent that I am not going to complete the varnishing and basing of my collection of Del Prado pre-painted 25/28mm-scale Napoleonic figures by the 18th June.

In truth I could probably complete this project by the deadline I set, but it would mean that I would have to spend more time than I currently have available in order to do so ... and I would rather not rush the work I have to do.

  1. More haste - less speed. Very proper too.

  2. Conrad Kinch,

Very true ... and experience shows that if I try to do things in a rush, they go wrong, and it ends up taking me much longer to correct the mistakes that I make than it would have taken me to complete the task if I had not rushed it.

    All the best,

    Bob

  3. "More troops! Where do you expect me to get more troops? Do you expect me to varnish and base them?"

    and when they DO arrive

    "Voila, Del Prado!"

Fortunately, my Finnish boardgame comes complete with ready-painted wooden blocks...

    Best wishes,

  4. Arthur1815 (Arthur),

"Late arrivals for the Battle of Waterloo are ..."

"Mr and Mrs Lancers and their Irish nephew, Red Lancers."

"Mr and Mrs O'Leon and their card-playing son, Nap O'Leon."

    I could go on ... but I won't!

Perhaps it would have been easier if I had just done this with counters or wooden blocks after all.

    All the best,

    Bob
