Ships of the Nationalist and Republican Navies during the Spanish Civil War: Republica-class Cruiser

Built at El Ferrol between 1915 and 1923. The design was based upon the British Birmingham-class Light Cruisers. Republica was originally named Reina Victoria Eugenia.

  • Complement: 404
Republica served in the Nationalist Navy. She was re-built and modernised (1937-38) and renamed Navarra. She survived the Civil War, and was stricken and broken-up in 1956.
