Soldiers of the Queen (SOTQ): Issue 167

The latest copy of SOTQ (Soldiers of the Queen, the quarterly journal of the Victorian Military Society) was delivered whilst I was at Connections UK 2017, and I have only just finished reading it.

The articles included in this issue are:
  • Field Marshal H.R.H. Prince George, 2nd Duke of Cambridge by David Nelson
  • Gunboat Diplomacy in the Age of Empire: Private Walter Dent of the Royal Marine Light Infantry by Dr Andre Chissel
  • Mrs Charlotte Willoughby Moore: An officer's widow and lady volunteer nurse by Mike Hinton
  • The Black Sheep Unmasked by Richard Stevenson
  • Captain Lumley's Curious Lapse: Ferozeshah 1845 by David Howell
  • Book Reviews
  • About the VMS
Another bumper issue of what is probably one of the best magazines that I subscribe to. Not a single article that did not interest me in some way ... and the one about the Duke of Cambridge certainly changed my opinion of him in a very positive way indeed.
