During a short visit to a local discount bookshop, I bought a copy of Chris McNab's book entitled THE SOLDIER for £5.00. The book was published in 2016 by Parragon, and was originally priced at £16.00.
The book is split into three sections, and each section is divided into three chapters.

Bob, I was fortunate enough to find a bargain copy of this last year and liked some of the less obvious uniforms shown. I would recommend to anyone picking up a copy though the contents are a bit random. Learnt a few new things too - sections on equipment carried and what some of it did. Also some good uniform photographs and lots of colour illustrations. I would have loved an illustrated book like this book as a child. https://manoftinblog.wordpress.com/2017/03/27/the-soldier-book-by-chris-mcnab/
ReplyDeleteMIN ManofTin,
DeleteWe seem to have bought this book for very similar reasons, and I was pleased that what could have been a typical pot-boiler of a book turned out to be well above average. Certainly worth the money I paid for it.
All the best,
Bob
