My latest book sales figures

Just as I finish writing the text of my latest book, my current book sales figures were sent to me by Lulu.com.

There are no major changes since last month, with sales of most of my wargame books continuing to go up slowly but surely. I hope that one or two of my more recent books will be reviewed in a wargame magazine sometime soon, and that this will encourage a few more sales.

  1. Bob, you can add one more Hexblitz and one more Gridded Naval to those figures - just bought 'em! Looking forward to reading your wise words!

  2. Bob,
Very good to see the 'Madasahatta' Book going so well- remember you saying that if it sold twenty copies you'd be pleased - you've far exceeded this. Well done. Cheers. KEV.

    1. Kev Robertson,

Cheers! My total sales are just a few short of 3,000 books in all forms, and I never, ever expected them to reach that sort of number!

      All the best,

      Bob

  3. Hi Bob, I recently placed an order with Lulu.com for a hardback copy of your Hexblitz. I have ordered books before frpm Lulu and have been pleased with the service and delivery speed. However, after a few days the eagerly awaited little brown parcel arrived. The packing was quickly ripped off to reveal 'The Shiksa's Guide to Yiddish' by Christy Potter Kaas!

After I had stopped laughing I got onto the Lulu website and contacted the help people. I had to send a picture of the wrong item. After that my case was taken up by 'Natalie', who kept me informed as to what was happening and in a few days time a replacement book arrived (the correct one. I have to say that Lulu were excellent in putting things right - I thought you may wish to know.

I am now working my way through Hexblitz.

    1. Bob Kett,

I've never heard of that happening before, although I have had the wrong book delivered to me by Amazon. (I had ordered a book about warships that took part in the War of the Pacific and got a French-language business management book instead!)

I am pleased that the book did eventually arrive safe and sound, and I hope that you are enjoying reading it. As an author I've always found Lulu.com very efficient when it comes to dealing with problems, and it is good to know they provide the same level of service to purchasers as well.

      All the best,

      Bob

PS. What did you do with the guide to Yiddish?

    2. I was thinking of giving the book on Yiddish to a good home or charity shop.

    3. Bob Kett,

When I was a child in the 1950s, a few friends of my father still spoke Yiddish amongst themselves and their English was 'spiced' with quite a few Yiddish words. Nowadays I doubt if one would find many Yiddish speakers outside some very small areas of a few larger British cities.

      All the best,

      Bob
