Other people's Portable Wargame battle reports: More English Civil War!

Kaptain Kobold has been fighting more English Civil War battles, this time the 1643 Battle of Newbury (NEWBURY 1643).

I hope that once he has the rules exactly the way he wants them, Kaptain Kobold will allow me to publish them.

  1. As a proud owner of a large 54mm ECW collection I would be very interested in getting a copy of these rules when you publish them Bob.

    Best wishes, Anthony

    1. Anthony Morton,

Kaptain Kobold has indicated that he might be interested in having his rules published, and when he is ready, I'll be only too pleased to make them available.

      All the best,

    2. Hi Anthony,

Drop me a note at kaptainkobold@yahoo.co.uk and I'll send you a link to the current version of the rules. It would be good to get some second opinions on them :

Certainly! They are in a different style to the other Portable Wargame sets, because I found it difficult to integrate some of the changes I've made without reorganising and rewriting. The underlying game is the same though.

    1. Kaptain Kobold,

I look forward to publishing them.

As to reorganising and rewriting them ... well, if that makes them easier for players to understand, all the better!

      All the best,

      Bob

  3. Hi Kaptain Kobold -
I have been enjoying your paper armies for some time now - your whole blog for that matter. Would be interested in seeing your rule set.

I have printed out a set of Catalan units set c.1700 together with some Spanish and a French Infantry battalion. Haven't yet made up my mind to carry on with them, but every now and then I have a bit of a look...
    Cheers,
    Ion
