I managed to take photographs of the world-record model collection that is housed in the Cartagena Military Museum. It is huge, and the coverage will take several blog entries. This is the second, and
I would recommend readers to click on each image so that they can be seen at full size.
Hi Bob
ReplyDeleteI have been to Cartagena a few times, one of my favourite Spanish cities. Very easy to explore on foot and lots of interest to see. I noticed the military barracks, but did not realise it contained a museum.
Are there any model soldiers or dioramas or just model vehicles?
regards
Paul
Thistlebarrow (Paul),
DeleteSue and I always enjoy visiting Cartagena as there is so much to see and do in a relatively small area.
The museum contains a large collection of artillery downstairs, and upstairs there are collections of uniforms, flags/banners, and models of Cartagena at various stages of its development as a military base. The model collection is also upstairs, but that doesn’t contain any dioramas.
I’d recommend a visit to the museum the next time you are in Cartagena. The museum building also houses the town’s archives, and is run by volunteers. They ask for a small contribution in exchange for entry, and the money is well worth parting with.
All the best,
Bob
I don' even recognise some of that stuff Bob
ReplyDeleteIncredible
