L’Iber: Museo de los Soldaditos de Plomo, Valencia: Introduction

Last April Sue and I visited the L’Iber, the Museo de los Soldaditos de Plomo in Valencia. The museum boasts of having the world’s largest collection of metal soldiers, and it is located at 20 & 22, Calle Caballeros, in the city of Valencia.

The anonymous entrance leads into a courtyard …

… where the entrance kiosk can be found immediately to the right, just inside the main doors. You can go up the stairs to the museum entrance on the first floor, or use the lift, which is located just around the corner on the right-hand side of the courtyard.

Visitors can buy a guidebook, and although it is in Spanish, it is easy to follow, and is essential if you want to get the most out of your visit.

Inside the back cover of the guidebook is a map of the museum, and this is reproduced below:

The key to the room numbers is:
  1. Tirant Room
  2. Battle of Almansa
  3. Victoria Eugenia Room
  4. 20th and 21st Century Room
  5. Corpus Christi Room
  6. Valencian Collection Room
  7. Napoleonic History Room (1)
  8. Napoleonic History Room (2)
  9. Abrazo de Vergara Room
  10. Everyday Life Room
  11. Temporary Exhibitions
  12. Prehistoric History Room
  13. Ancient History Room (1)
  14. Ancient History Room (2)
Over the next couple of weeks I hope to share some of the photographs we took.
