Other people's Portable Wargame battle reports: Napoleonic brigade-level battle

Russell King (who is a relatively new convert to the joys of the PORTABLE WARGAME) recently fought a Napoleonic battle between French and Austrian troops, using the brigade-level rules from THE PORTABLE NAPOLEONIC WARGAME. He used the scenario from the book (The Battle of Porter's Ridge) with a few changes, and his full battle report was featured on the PORTABLE WARGAME Facebook page yesterday.

  1. Hi Bob,
Russell's Napoleonic troops appear to be a mix of plastic and metal 1/72nd..a good choice. Regards. KEV.

    1. Kev Robertson (Kev),

I understand that they are a mixture of Revell, HaT, and Airfix plastic figures, and some Les Higgins metal figures.

      All the best,

      Bob

  2. Good looking game. There's what looks like some Airfix French Infantry in there - I don't recognise the other figures! At first I couldn't see the grid and assumed it was being played free-style (tired old eyes).

    1. Maudlin Jack Tar,

The are Airfix, Revell, HaT, and Les Higgins figures in Russell’s collection.

The grid seems to have been marked with crosses in each grid corner rather than using grid lines. This makes it easy to forget there is a grid being used.

      All the best,

      Bob
