A new YouTube video: Batterie Lothringen, Noirmont Point, Jersey

I have just uploaded a new YouTube video to the Wargaming Miscellany YouTube channel.

It is entitled BATTERIE LOTHRINGEN, lasts just under ten minutes, and tells the story of one of the German World War II coastal defence batteries built on Jersey in the Channel Islands.

The video can be found here on the Wargaming Miscellany YouTube channel.

PS. Since I uploaded this video I have noticed a couple of errors (e.g. Batterie Lotheringen being referred to as Batterie Moltke on a couple of slides, some missing background music etc.). I hope to upload a corrected video at some point.

  1. Hi BOB,
Have you managed to make it to your Hobby Room- it has been awhile. Looking forward to seeing more of your OO9 collection- you certainly have a good stock of engines. Best Wishes. KEV.

    1. Kev Robertson (Kev),

My toy/wargame room is up two flights of stairs … and so far I’ve only managed to make it up three steps!

The plan is to get a stairlift to the top of the house. So far we’ve had one quote and should be getting another tomorrow. Once the stairlift is in place, I’ll be able to get to the top floor … and my model railway!

      All the best,

      Bob

    2. BOB,
That is good news that you are investing in a Stairlift- that'd be great for you- especially being able to reach your Hobby Room. I had a meeting yesterday with the Physio- Emerson....seems I can do some exercises to strengthen the top part of my legs, hips and buttock...we're doing OK otherwise. Best Wishes. KEV.

    3. Kev Robertson (Kev),

So far, we’ve had one quote for installing a stairlift and we are having two more done over the next two days. We will then decide which to go with … and with a bit of luck, I should be back upstairs by the middle of next month.

The exercises you are going to do sound very familiar! I have to do several each day that are designed to improve my upper and lower leg strength as well as my hips and buttocks. I have to wear weights for some of them, and since I started six weeks ago, my fitness has definitely improved … as has my mobility. I hope that you achieve a similar improvement.

One thing that has really helped me is my pedalling machine. I do 6,000 plus revolutions each day, and this has revived my muscle stamina as well as improving the flexibility of my knees.

      All the best,

      Bob
