Just before I left work this evening, one of members of the Middle Management Team mentioned to me that the 'phone call that will announce that Ofsted will be arriving to conduct their inspection in two working days time is expected tomorrow.
This means that we will move to OFCON 1 (Ofsted readiness condition 1, or Ofsted Visit Imminent). The codeword for this will be COCKED UP ... and that probably describes just what the end result will be!
Am I worried? Nah! I was a ready as I was ever likely to be months ago ... and we have been at this 'alert' status several times before and they haven't come yet.
PS. The made-up term OFCON is derived from the United States Department of Defence term DEFCON (defence readiness condition), the highest level of which is DEFCON 1: War Imminent (Codeword COCKED PISTOL). It seemed rather appropriate in the circumstances.
