Rain, rain, go away, Come again some other day

COW2012 begins this afternoon ... and the weather forecast does not look good.

The Met Office weather maps for the weekend for the area around Knuston Hall (which is roughly situated in the middle of a triangle whose corners are Kettering, Bedford and Northampton) look like this:

It would seem that the best we can hope for is the occasional break in the rain and the odd bit of sunshine. This will be a great pity, as one of the joys of COW is being able to sit outside and have a good old chinwag about life in general and wargaming in particular.

Mind you, the Met Office might have got its forecast wrong. We can live in hope that they have ... at least for the area around Knuston Hall!

  1. It is, however, traditional for much of my drive to COW to be through heavy rain. The difference is thet we normally benefit from 'Fuhrer weather' for the bulk of the weekend.....

  2. I'm working from home today, in that triangle. The forecast as you describe it at them oemnt is completely accurate. It has rained all night, pretty much, and is continuing now.

It is not scheduled to rain all day. The rain stops at 3pm and we get showers.

    See you this evening.

  3. BOB ...I look forward to a few pictures from you and Tim. BTW 2 days ago we had a fierce storm come through our area with winds 60 to 90K, heavy rain with some areas receiving up to 200mm, and in our neighbouring province they had tornados. Looks like you chaps are doing better than us.

  4. Tim Gow,

You always have more fun than me! Driving through bright, sunny weather is so boring!

Hopefully you will be right about the weather at COW ...

    All the best,

    Bob

  5. Trebian,

It is nice to know that the Met Office can actually get its forecasts right somewhere!

    All the best,

  7. Chasseur,

The pictures and COW reports will follow very soon.

The irony of the current weather in the UK is that if it were not raining so much, I could not water my garden (under the threat of a sizeable fine) as we are in the middle of an officially declared drought!

    All the best,

    Bob
