Building a model coastal defence gun: the basic components

I decided to build the two coastal defence guns I need from various bits of polystyrene plastic tubing, girders, and spare parts that I had in my stock of modelling supplies.

The main components are shown below:


All I have to do now is to find my glue ... and then I can begin the assembly process.

    This look very intriguing and I like the idea about the barrel banding - one inside another I guess?

    Suggest grey for the carriage and black for the barrel.

    You are right about the barrel banding, as you will see from my latest blog entry.

    Your suggestion for a colour scheme is similar to the one that I had in mind for the completed guns, although I do tend to favour overall dark grey.
