Regular blog reader Ed M pointed out that I called MS PAINT (!!!) MS Draw in yesterday's blog post.
Mea culpa! My only excuse is that I was so excited by the results of the visit by the Occupational Therapists that I managed to get myself well and truly mixed up when it came to the name of the drawing program I was using.
The downside of this mistake is that I now have to go back and revise some elements of the video I have been working on as I used the wrong name several times during it. However, this will give me the opportunity to make some improvements ... so it's not all bad news.
'What a mistake-a to make-a!' is the catchphrase of Capitano Alberto Bertorelli, one of the characters in the long-running BBC TV comedy programme 'ALLO 'ALLO! I have used it before as the title of a blog post back in October 2009 and it struck me as being rather appropriate for yesterday's blunder on my part.

No worries. However, you had me going there. After reading your last post, I immediately went online to look for MS Draw. I thought this might be MS's version of the vector-based drawing program Adobe Illustrator. I got excited because I teach a course in scientific illustration and I'm always on the lookout for free or inexpensive graphics programs for my students.

DeleteSorry about the confusion. I used to use Visio a lot when I was working but since I retired the cost of programs like that has been prohibitive for the amount of use I would get from it.

ReplyDeleteWell, MS Paint - at least the version I use - is a very useful application for doing maps. It has its limitations, which occasionally has drawn me to the 3D version, but, for all its potential, I find that much less useful.
Great to read that after a long journey through medical issues, things are starting to look up!

DeleteI’ve also tried using the 3D version but found it didn’t quite do what I wanted it to do.
On the medical front, progress seems to be being made. It may be slower than I would have like, but at least it is happening.

Hi Bob - not to worry as MS DRAW is still around. It has been built into the Office suite and used to draw in Word etc.
