Send another three and fourpence ... better make that six and eightpence!

Not one but TWO packages arrived in the post today ... and one of them contained two boxes of Britains 54mm figures to add to my growing Funny Little Wars army.

One box contained six members of the Black Watch ...

... and the other ten soldiers of the York and Lancaster Regiment.

I now have the beginning of an Army Red ... although I will have to come up with a 'proper' name for it in due course.

As to the other package ... well more of that later!

I think I have a Prince August mould for a guardsman, most likely 54mm with alternative heads and arms. You could make guards as well regulars.

If you were inclined to get into home casting or have a friend who could do it for you I would be happy to pass it on to you!

  4. Tim Gow,

Rest assured, there are more to follow!

  5. Jim Duncan,

I had 'Highland Laddie' playing on the CD player as I opened the box!

It is good news about the Regimental Museum, especially as some of my wife's ancestors may have served with the Regiment soon after it was founded.

    All the best,

  6. Jim Duncan,

I had been thinking about buying some of these moulds so if you have one that I can borrow or have, it would be most appreciated. I have made my own moulds in the past and have everything I need to cast my own figures. Being able to add to what I already have would be of great help ... and will keep the cost down as well!

    All the best,

    Bob

  7. Hi Bob

I'll have a rummage in some likely boxes in the wargames hut this evening.

I probably have some metal (recast figures I have acquired) which could be melted down but probably too heavy to post.

York is the furthest south UK show I go to. Will you or any of your friends get that far north?

  8. Jim,

Thanks for doing that for me.

Tim Gow and Martin Rapier both live in Sheffield (which is in South Yorkshire) and young Mr Gow occasionally goes up to Scotland to visit relatives and to go to shows.

    Is that of any help?

    All the best,

    Bob

  9. Hopefully Mr Gow will be visiting Scotland soon as the York show is in February.

My next show south of the border will likely be Border Reiver, end of August in Newcastle.

Do you know of anyone attending Claymore in August, wargamers or traders, who could pick up the metal for you?

  10. Jim,

I will try to find out if anyone I know is going to go to Claymore. I will be in contact if I do.

    All the best,

    Bob

  12. Jim,

Those moulds will be a great boon to me as it will allow me to fill some of the gaps in my FLW army.

I will be in contact via email later this evening.

    All the best,

    Bob

  14. Jim,

They look almost identical to the York and Lancaster Regiment figures that I have bought!

If I can make figures that are half as good as these, I will be very pleased indeed!

    All the best,

    Bob
