Late yesterday afternoon the Royal Mail delivered my latest batch of eBay purchases. Its arrival lifted my spirits somewhat, and it took all my self-control not to immediately rip the parcel open and write a blog entry about the contents ... but in line with my recent resolution to try to restrict myself to writing one blog entry per day, I resisted the temptation!
The parcel contained quite a few packs of Del Prado pre-painted 25/28mm-scale Napoleonic wargames figures:
These additional figures will enhance my existing collection quite considerably ... and are yet another reason why I really must get them all varnished and based so that I can start using them.

I agree, any wargaming parcel arriving in the mail is always a positive. Its like little Christmas gifts through out the year.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are on the improve.
Guido.
Lovely new toys to lift the spirits. Looking forward to seeing this collection in action.
ReplyDeleteGuidowg (Guido),
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comment about my health's recent improvement.
Like Christmas throughout the year sums it up exactly! Well said!
All the best,
Bob
Alan Charlesworth,
ReplyDeleteThese new toys really did arrive at just the right moment. All I have to do now is to varnish them (the paint on some of them is a little fragile and needs protecting) and then to base them ... and then the campaign can begin!
All the best,
Bob
'Easter Presents' perhaps!
ReplyDeleteFocus on the cheerful side of life. I moved on two boxes of my old chums figures today, sad, but another £450 into the fund!
Jim Duncan,
ReplyDeleteNo 'perhaps' about it! These are my Easter presents to me!
It sounds as if you are doing your friend's family a great service turning his collection into cash for them. Good luck with your continued efforts.
All the best,
Bob
Hi Bob, glad your canine friend is not making much noise at the moment.
ReplyDeleteThe proceeds from the sale of my old chums wargames stuff is going to form a donation to Combat Stress.
It will take quite some time to process everything but I expect to make a substantial donation, in my friends name in due course.
Good to see you back at the keyboard, Bob.
ReplyDeleteOne blog posting a day is a good resolution, - quality over quantity every time.
As I only read one posting from any blogger a day (life is too short) I miss some of your stuff.....
Jim Duncan,
ReplyDeleteHe's been barking a bit this afternoon ... but I hope that it is the last time I'll be hearing from him for a while.
I am going to try to stick to a maximum of one blog entry per day ... and my wife is taking steps to make sure I can't break that resolution for at least a fortnight.
I hope that you raise lots of money for COMBAT STRESS; it is a very deserving charity.
All the best,
Bob
Trebian,
ReplyDeleteIt is good to be back blogging ... and the discipline of 'one a day' should ensure that I produce quality rather than quantity ... and I will also know that you will be reading what I write!
All the best,
Bob
