Remembrance Day 2016

At the eleventh hour of the eleventh month, ninety eight years after Armistice Day 1918 ...

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
When You Go Home, Tell Them Of Us And Say,
For Their Tomorrow, We Gave Our Today
.’
We will remember them.

Dedicated to the memory of all those who died in the so-called Great War ... and in all the wars and conflicts that have taken place since then.

  1. I was at home today so was able to hear the start and end of the two minutes signalled by the cannon fired from Fort Amherst.

    1. Nigel Drury,

We heard a gun being fired at Woowich Barracks to mark the start and end of the two minutes silence.

      All the best,

      Bob

    2. Slightly more poignant now, given the recent news.
