Cruising can broaden the mind ... and the waist!

Yesterday Sue and I returned from a cruise to the Mediterranean and back. Along the way we re-visited quite a few places we had been to before and several new ones. I've been making notes and taking hundreds of pictures along the way and have a lot of material to include in future blog entries.

For those of you who have never cruised, I strongly advise you to think about doing so as it can be a great way to visit places. You travel in a luxurious floating hotel, where the food is excellent (hence the comment about cruising having the potential to broaden the waist!) and the people you meet can be both interesting and entertaining. There is time for you to sit and relax as well as to go ashore to visit cities, towns, archaeological sites, museums, art galleries ... and shops. The choice of what you do is yours, and no one will try to dragoon you into doing something that you don't want to do.

Over the next few days we are going to be doing the inevitable chores that always come after a holiday (washing clothes, storing the luggage, catching up on tasks that have not been done whilst we have been away), but with luck I should at some point be able to begin writing a long blog entry about our cruise. In the meantime – however – those chores have got to be done.

  1. I envy the many options you have where you live for cruises to various places (and particularly, places with plenty of historical interest). Although my waistline doesn't need the extra help (or helpings!). ha ha

    1. Fitz-Badger,

There are still quite a few places my wife and I have yet to visit. For example, we have yet to go to the Eastern Mediterranean and the Black Sea ... but until the conflicts in these areas die down, there is little hope of us making it there.

      All the best,

      Bob
