6,000,000 hits!
Recently my blog has achieved over six million hits!
The blog achieved a million hits by December 2015, three million by December 2018 (I missed when it achieved two million hits), four million hits by November 2021, five million during February this year ... and now it has passed six million hits.
I started this blog sixteen years ago on Thursday 18th September 2008, and since then I have written over 5,600 posts, had approximately 45,500 comments, and attracted 420 followers. I don't think that's bad for something that I described back in 2008 as being 'self-publicising, self-centred, self-indulgent'!
Wow! Congratulations Bob!
ReplyDeleteMaudlin Jack Tar,
DeleteCheers! What amazes me is how the number of hits has risen so much over the last few years.
All the best,
Bob
Congratulations! And very well done!
ReplyDeleteMark Cordone,
DeleteCheers! If it wasn’t for the feedback from regular readers such as yourself, I would never have been motivated enough to ever reach a million hits.
All the best,
Bob
Quite an impressive milestone to reach! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteJonathan Freitag,
DeleteCheers! I hope to carry on blogging until I reach at least ten million hits!

That's pretty good going Bob! I seem to be popular in Russian and South East Asia, depending upon the day and where the moon is in its cycle;).
ReplyDeleteSteve J.,
DeleteFunnily enough I’ve had similar ‘interest’ in my blog from those areas on occasion … yesterday being one of them! Apparently an item about the Indian Army was of ‘interest’ to visitors from Russia and China!
All the best,
Bob
Wow! That's some going Bob! Well done that man!
ReplyDeleteRay Rousell,
DeleteCheers! Getting wonderful feedback from regular blog readers like you makes it all worthwhile.
All the best,
Bob
Bob, a great achievement - especially as you have never included any cute cat pictures!
ReplyDeleteLong may your blog continue! Arthur
Arthur1815 (Arthur),
DeleteCheers! I’ll include some pictures of cute cats in future blog posts if you think that it’ll boost the number of hits my blog will get!
All the best,
Bob
Well done Bod, now only if you got £1 for each visit 😀

BOB,
ReplyDeleteNice work there - congratulations. I started my Blog around the same time though without near the success that you have enjoyed- still I'm happy about it all. Cheers. KEV.
Kev Robertson (Kev),
DeleteCheers! I have no idea why my blog has achieved any level of success other than the fact that I always try to reply to comments readers make, and that this seems to encourage a dialogue and more hits.
Good luck with your blog, which I always enjoy reading.
All the best,
Bob
Well done Bob, that is some achievement
ReplyDeleteThistlebarrow,
DeleteCheers! I never set out to achieve millions of hits; it just seemed to happen!
All the best,
Bob
Bob -
ReplyDeleteSix million hits - the outcome of a fair bit of work that you have put into the blog and your other publications. Obviously well deserved!
Congratulations,
Ion
Archduke Piccolo (Ion),
DeleteI suppose that since I retired, writing has become my ‘job’, whether it is a book, an article, or my blog. I thoroughly enjoy it, and I hope that this comes across and may help to explain why my blog has done so well.
All the best,
Bob
PS. Back last year (2023) we were on a cruise and happened to sit with a couple who we chatted to before dinner one night. The female member of the couple casually mentioned in a somewhat superior tone that she was a writer and had recently had a book - a romance - published. Sue asked how many books she had written, and the answer was one. Sue then mentioned that I also wrote and that at the time I’d published at least twenty books as well as hundreds of magazine articles. I did try to point out that most of my output was non fiction, but by then the other couple had decided that they needed to be elsewhere.
I don’t like boasting about what I’ve done, but sometimes it’s very difficult not to.
