Bob,
ReplyDeleteI must say the Cover got my attention with 40K Terminator Space Marines making a landing from what could be a WW2 American styled landing craft...Interesting. However-I must resist - as I'm easily attracted to anything that is Naval in orientation. Cheers. KEV.
Kev Robertson,
DeleteThe article that the front cover relates to is Phil Dutre's one about narrative wargame campaigns, and is well worth reading. The magazine is also FREE(!) so I'd recommend that you indulge yourself and get a copy sent to you.
All the best,
Bob
Thanks! ;-)
DeletePhil Dutré,
DeleteCredit where it is due; it was a very good article ... and that comes from someone who has no great love of Sci-Fi wargaming.
All the best,
Bob
I agree with you, Bob. WNQ and Lone Warrior are my favourite wargame magazines these days.
ReplyDeletePerhaps you might submit one of your PW pieces to it?
Regards,
Arthur
Arthur Harman,
DeleteWNQ is excellent ... and I am giving serious thought to writing a PW-related article for it.
All the best,
Bob
I've just got my copies of 1 + 2 - very impressed with both. The quality of writing is as good as the glossies in WH Smiths.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Pete,
Pete,
DeleteI'm glad that you like WNQ. The quality is excellent, mainly because its contributors are wargamers who write about what they love.
All the best,
Bob
Thanks for the great review Bob! I'll have to start paying you advertising rates...
ReplyDeleteAnd anytime you want to write a PW article, I'll be there ready to publish it!
Regards,
Greg Horne
Wargamer's Notes (Greg),
DeleteI give credit where it is due ... and I would actually pay to read this magazine because I think that everything in it is top quality stuff.
Arthur Harman has also suggested that I write something for you about THE PORTABLE WARGAME ... and once my latest (non-wargaming) research project is complete I may well do so!
All the best,
Bob
Ooooh, this looks good. Thanks for head's up, Bob!
ReplyDeleteAlFront,
DeleteI don't think that you will be disappointed!
All the best,
Bob
