Travel Battle: My second copy has finally arrived!

After a somewhat tortuous journey, my second copy of TRAVEL BATTLE has finally arrived!

It was sent to me by Perry Miniatures two days after the game was released at SALUTE ... but somehow the Royal Mail could not find my address and returned it to them. I sent an email to Perry Miniatures asking where my game was ... at which point I discovered that the house number had been left off the original address label. A couple of days later Alan Perry contacted me again, and informed me that the original parcel had been returned to them and that he had was sending it back with the correct address on it.

The Royal Mail attempted to deliver the game to me last Friday ... but by the time I managed to get down two flights of stairs from the top floor of our house to the front door, the postman had gone, leaving a card behind that informed me that I could collect the parcel from our local delivery office next day. Unfortunately I was unable to get there on Saturday, but when I did get there on Monday, they couldn't find the parcel. It transpired that they had decided to send it out again to be delivered, and whilst I was at the delivery office trying to collect it, the postman was at my house trying to deliver it!

I finally managed to go back to collect it yesterday, and it is now sitting in my wargames/toy room waiting to be opened.

  1. Hi Bob!

Sounds like a badly written comedy skit! But at least it has arrived...at long last.

    1. Martin,

I cannot fault the Royal Mail for trying to deliver the parcel a second time ... but on this occasion it would have helped if they hadn't!

      All the best,

      Bob

    2. William Stewart,

More like Baldrick Post and Couriers!

      All the best,

  2. Hi Bob, Glad it arrived finally, you certainly had a long wait for it! I must have been lucky with my two sets, posted out on a Friday and delivered on the Monday. I'm very impressed with the contents but not sure yet how to approach the painting of the figures .... or even if I should leave them as they are are. What are your plans?

    1. 'Lee,

You seem to have more luck than I did with your delivery!

At present I am still thinking about whether or not to paint the figures. I suspect that I might do so once I have got one or two other things out of the way first.

      All the best,

      Bob

  3. Bob,
We have all had at various times some misfortune with the Post- yours is a beauty! Would make a good script for Faulty Towers. Glad you have the boxed Game at last. Postage to Australia can be full of hazard- I am hoping that my current UK 15mm order won't be longer than twenty days away. Cheers. KEV.

    1. Kev Robertson,

The post in our area is usually very good ... but when they get things wrong, they get them really wrong!

I hope that your order arrives quickly. If it is being sent by air mail it should not take much more than a week.

      All the best,

      Bob

  4. What are you complaining about? It's a TRAVEL game.

And now it has much more experience than your other copy; the games played with it will be so much better.

    1. Stu Rat,

It certainly did it's fair share of travelling!

I am looking forward to being able to use both games in the near future.

      All the best,

      Bob
