After a period of hiatus when I just could not seem to get the motivation to do any substantial work on my PORTABLE NAPOLEONIC WARGAME book, I'm finally back in the swing and have been fighting the second exemplar battle that will be featured in the book.
Here are some of the images I intend to use:
The battle is now reaching a stage where both sides will begin fighting each other in earnest, and I hope to write a further, illustrated blog entry about it later this week.

Hi Bob,
ReplyDeleteLooking good so far and I am looking forward to the AAR in due course. I note the infantry units made up from four bases - are you having stacking limits per grid area (4 bases is 2 units as I recall) or this a revision? I must confess that the four bases looks very imposing!
All the best,
DC
David Crook,
DeleteI hope to finish fighting the battle later today or sometime tomorrow.
In the PNW: DIVISION rules, two infantry units (four bases) are allowed in the same grid area. This makes it easier to field a division on an 8 x 8 or 8 x 9 grid and still have room to manoeuvre.
All the best,
Bob
lovely, I just discovered your blog and really enjoying all your entries.
ReplyDeleteUnknown,
DeleteI'm very pleased to read that you have enjoyed visiting my blog, and I hope that you will become one of my regular readers.
All the best,
Bob
I like the look already!
ReplyDeleteArchduke Piccolo,
DeleteCheers! I'm enjoying fighting the exemplar battle, and it 'feels' right.
All the best,
Bob
Great pictures Bob - Looking forward to the finished book!
ReplyDeleteMaudlin Jack Tar,
DeleteI'm not sure if the book will be finished by Christmas, but I'm going to try my best to hit that deadline.
All the best,
Bob
A very attractive set up, I especially like the town.
ReplyDeleteRoss Mac,
DeleteCheers! I tried to keep the terrain as simple as I could.
I think the buildings were bought in the Netherlands or Belgium, and are ideal for wargaming because their 'footprint' is small in compared to their height.
All the best,
Bob
Great to hear . The photo looks excellent. I look forward to following developments.

Tradgardmastare (Alan),
DeleteThanks for your kind comment about the photographs.
I'm beginning to make steady progress with the book again, and although I suspect that I will miss my self-imposed Christmas deadline, I should have the bulk of the work completed by then.
All the best,
Bob
