  • Division vs. Division battles
  • The Portable Napoleonic Wargame: Division rules
  • The Portable Napoleonic Wargame: Division rules in Action: The Battle of Helmstedt
  • Corps vs. Corps and larger battles
  • The Portable Napoleonic Wargame: Big Battle rules
  • The Portable Napoleonic Wargame: Big Battle rules in Action: The Battle of Twee Heuvels

  1. Hi Bob,

I am looking forward to this and no mistake and one thing that intrigues me is the chapter: After the Napoleonic Wars.

    Any clues about this?

    All the best,

    DC

    1. David Crook,

The chapter you mention is one where I suggest ways in which the rules could be modified and used for battles between 1815 and 1865.

      All the best,

      Bob

  2. Looks very tasty, although I can only see two "Battle" reports, not three

    1. Tim Spanton,

In the words of Captain Mannering 'I wondered who'd be the first to notice that.' In truth, I'd missed it out whilst typing up the blog entry ... but it is there now!

      All the best,

      Bob

  3. Bob,
Looking good! But will it really 'be over by Christmas'?
    Best wishes,

    1. Arthur1815 (Arthur),

I am hoping to finish writing the book by the end of next week. Then it will need to be proof-read and any alternations made. After that, publication should take about two weeks.

Will it be 'over by Christmas? I hope so ... and then I can start work on the next book!

      All the best,

      Bob

    1. Kaptain Kobold,

The chapter about modifying Joseph Morschauser's rules contains my original pre-PORTABLE WARGAME Napoleonic rules.

      All the best,

      Bob

    1. Tradgardmastare (Alan),

After a period where I seemed to lose interest in this project, I am now raring to get it finished. I have one more exemplar battle report to write, and then I can send it off to be proof-read.

I hope that you enjoy the book when it is finally published.

      All the best,

      Bob
