A Winter-ish War

Lulu.com have printed my copy of A WINTER-ISH WAR, and it was delivered yesterday.

I must admit that it looks even better than I had hoped that it would (the colour photographs really do improve the whole thing!), and I am very pleased to add it to my bookshelves.

Since I announced that I was creating this book for my own amusement, I've been contacted by several wargamers who have expressed a wish to buy a copy for themselves. I am therefore looking at the possibility of publishing the book properly, and when I do, I'll let my regular blog readers know.

  1. Looks very good. Bob - please add me to your list of potential customers. Don't leave your decision too long though. I've a credit note from Lulu burning a hole in my pocket which expires in a few weeks time!

    1. David Bradley,

You're added! With luck, the hardback book and PDF versions will be available in about a week's time.

      All the best,

      Bob

  2. It seems to me that there are very few "modern" Imaginations campaigns written up on blogs let alone in book form. Although I can read the blog entries, I would always prefer having a copy to thumb through for inspiration away from a screen - you can count me among those that would purchase it if you put it up for sale.

    1. John Y,

Due to production restrictions, Lulu.com can only make the book available as a printed, hardback, colour version or PDF version. With luck, both should be available to purchase from them in about a week or so.

      All the best,

      Bob

  3. I imagine it must be very satisfying receiving a copy of your published work, even when you've already published multiple works!

    1. Maudlin Jack Tar,

It is a wonderful feeling to open the package and see the cover, and then to open the book to see if it is as good as you hoped.

      All the best,

      Bob

Count me VERY interested in obtaining a copy - with coloured pics, and all.

    1. Archduke Piccolo,

The hardback version is not going to be very cheap (thanks mainly to the production cost) but the PDF will be less than £5.00. If you choose the former, I'd wait until Lulu.com has one of its regular discounts available.

      All the best,

      Bob

  5. Cheers, Bob. For the sake of consistency in the collection, I'd prefer the hardback hardcopy, cost what it might. I can afford the odd extravagance.

    1. Archduke Piccolo,

I hope that you enjoy reading it.

I had an email this morning to the effect that the proof copy has been printed and should be delivered in a day or two. As soon as it has been and I've checked it, I'll release the book for sale on Lulu.com.

      All the best,

      Bob
