Over the past fortnight I have been gathering various articles together for the next PORTABLE WARGAME COMPENDIUM. To date, I have about fifty pages of text and illustrations already laid out, and hope to have added more by the weekend.
I’ll blog more about the contents then … but if anyone would like to contribute, please let me know. Some of you have already done this, but I’m sure that others might have something interesting to share.
I’m not in a position to pay for contributions, but all contributors will get a free copy of the COMPENDIUM and will also have their names included on the list of authors.
Great news Bob, looking forward to that. Regards Paul
ReplyDeletePDL (Paul),
DeleteCheers! I’m hoping to have it print-ready by Easter.
All the best,
Bob
As Charles Montgomery Burns is wont to say … excellent.
ReplyDeleteThat’s great news Bob. Good luck with your efforts to piece all the various bits together and with adding your own shine to things. Count me in for a copy.
Cheers,
Geoff
Elliesdad (Geoff),
DeleteCheers! I have quite a few interesting and diverse articles already, and hope to add more in due course.
All the best,
Bob
You are welcome to use anything of mine in the compendium.
ReplyDeleteMark Cordone,
DeleteRest assured, I certainly will take you up on your kind offer.
All the best,
Bob
Glad to be able to contribute.
DeleteMark Cordone,
DeleteThanks very much.
All the best,
Bob
Bob,
ReplyDeleteDo you have/want a section on 3D printing? If so, what would you want it to cover?
RyanRecker,
DeleteNow there’s an idea! I’m writing an article about how to create PW armies from easily available figures from games like RISK! and an article about how you created your armies would fit in nicely with that, particularly if you can include relevant illustrations.
I cannot pay for articles, but all contributors get a credit as an author and a free copy of the book.
All the best,
Bob
Feel free to include my contribution to the 3d printing section, both text and photos. Is there a deadline for contributions regarding rules for the book?
DeleteMr. Pavone,
DeleteThanks very much for your kind offer. The deadline I’m working to is the end of March … but I’m prepared to be flexible.
All the best,
Bob
Bob,
DeleteI've got a draft submission to show you. How do you want it submitted? With two toddlers, I can't procrastinate too much.
RyanRecker,
DeletePlease could you send it to the email address you will find on my Blogger profile. I look forward to receiving it.
All the best,
Bob
Looking forward to reading the next instalment. Can i put forwad my skirmish version of the portable wargames. Im sure i posted it on the Facebook page. You can have a look and se if it's worthy of the compendium.
ReplyDeleteCheers Steve
Stephen Smith (Steve),
DeleteI have your PDF saved from twenty weeks ago, along with two scenarios. I’d be very happy to include them in the next PW Compendium.
All the best,
Bob
That would be great Bob, the army lists for the later periods are not included in the rules. Unfortunately i have very little knowledge or gaming experience in those periods. They would have to be finished by someone with a better knowledge than mine.
DeleteStephen Smith,
DeleteI might try to add some more army lists myself, although I’m not sure they are necessary.
All the best,
Bob
Hello:
ReplyDeleteI just found these rules this week. So yes, I am very late to the party. As you are referring to a second compendium, where might one find the first compendium?
Thank You
Daniel,
DeleteYou can but copies of the PDF from Wargames Vault (https://www.wargamevault.com/product/395026/The-Portable-Wargame-Compendium) or printed editions from Amazon (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Portable-Wargame-Compendium-Bob-Cordery-ebook/dp/B09YQ5TZXT/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3N80IDA8GXJ2A&keywords=portable+wargame+compendium&qid=1676968234&sprefix=portable+wargame+compendium%2Caps%2C137&sr=8-1).
All the best,
Bob
Thank you Bob. I appreciate the reply. :-)
DeleteDaniel,
DeleteIt was my pleasure.
All the best,
Bob
