I spotted a couple more Matchbox Skybuster die cast aircraft for sale on eBay recently and decided to bid for them ... and won!
Whilst they were not as cheap as my other recent eBay 'bargain', they were not expensive (the total cost was £3.75 for the pair) and they give me – once they have been suitably repainted – the opportunity to field a small inter-war/early World War II air force in any forthcoming wargames.

Chocks Away!
ReplyDeleteDoes the plane on the left say 'Wind' or 'Wino'? Nice bargains Bob!
ReplyDeleteJim Duncan,
ReplyDeleteI have already had thoughts about building an aircraft carrier to carry them ... and tried to put those ideas to the back of my mind!
All the best,
Bob
Phil Broeders,
ReplyDeleteAs far as I can make out is says 'Wind' ... but knowing some pilots, it could easily be 'Wino'!
All the best,
Bob
I think these planes need a cracking paint job with lots of patched up canvas, oil stains and a greatly weathered look.
ReplyDeletePilots with silk scarfs and a rear gunner would be wonderful too!
Jim
Jim Duncan,
ReplyDeleteI can guarantee the new paint job ... but as to the rest ...
All the best,
Bob
Nice find, I've got two of the biplane, plan to make one a army
ReplyDeletedive bomber and the other a naval torpedo bomber...
Don M,
ReplyDeleteThe biplane is just 'generic' enough to past muster as almost any radial engined biplane of the late 1930s/early 1940s. All it needs is a somewhat less garish colour scheme.
All the best,
Bob
Two of these might be of interest to you

Nigel Drury,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link.
I owned built copies of all these kits at some point in my life, but -alas - they went missing years ago.
All the best,
Bob
No stopping you now Bob
ReplyDeleteIt's eBay rampage time now ;)
Geordie an Exiled FoG,
ReplyDeleteThese models are for a project that is still forming in my head ... and if I can find some more of the same, all the better!
All the best,
Bob
