Huzzah! They look great!
ReplyDeleteTradgardmastare,
DeleteCheers! Completing them was a sort of Christmas present to myself.
All the best,
Bob
Hello there Bob,
ReplyDeleteJust in time is time enough! They look splendid and deserve to have an inaugural game over Christmas - perhaps the Zubians would oblige?
All the best and merry Christmas,
DC
David Crook,
DeleteCheers! With luck, some of them might face an opponent or two across my tabletop at some point over the holiday.
Have a great Christmas and New Year,
Bob
Bob,
ReplyDeleteI can imagine one of your mounted generals exclaiming, "There, Sir, there are your guns!" as he points towards the enemy...
Just have to hope it works out better this time!
Happy Christmas,
Arthur
Arthur1815 (Arthur),
DeleteI do hope that if they order their cavalry to charge a gun line, they have more success than the Light Brigade had!
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
All the best,
Bob
They look great! Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteMark Cordone,
DeleteCheers! I was very pleased with the way they turned out.
May I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
All the best,
Bob
Another fine addition to the men of Burgundy, a la Kepi Rouge….and joyeux Noël to you and yours, Bob. 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
ReplyDeleteMartin S.,
DeleteWhen seen as a complete little army, it looks quite impressive. I’ll try to feature photos of each of my armies at some point over the next week or so.
May I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
All the best,
Bob
What a fine army, Bob! I have a special softspot for the Elevenst Infantry Regiment - one is tempted to nominate oneself as its colonel, under the guise of Jean-Andre Vicomte d'Avidhomme.
ReplyDeleteI seem to have missed your response to my comment in your 'Naval' posting about a month back. Knowing very little about 19th Century naval matters, I was unaware of the 'Nile' class of warships, and it does look like a nice design to do. I'm very tempted to 'do' a Victoria as well.
At a pinch, I daresay I could rope into the Ruberian, Azurian and Grauheim navies the ones I made for Hellenica and Turcowaz, they being British, French and German designs. Maybe a small Izumrud-Zeleniya (Russian) navy will come into existence down the track.
Cheers,
Ion
Archduke Piccolo (Ion),
DeleteOops! I missed that … but it is now the Eleventh regiment!
Thanks for your suggestion; I’ll be adding Jean-Andre Vicomte d’Avidhomme to my list of characters!
I rather like the Nile-class ships (I have a 1:1250th scale model of one of them) and I used the Victoria as the basis of my HMS Empress. (https://wargamingmiscellany.blogspot.com/2018/05/hms-empress.html)
I do hope that you build some more ships for your collection. Your existing ones are marvellous!
All the best,
Bob
BOB,
ReplyDeleteYour cavalry looks just the ticket for your FLW - good to see your progress as you move towards the eventual games. Christmas day here- it has been good - hope you've enjoyed the day with Sue. Cheers. KEV.
Kev Robertson (Kev),
DeleteCheers! I did not rush the painting of theses figures, and the end results were all the better for it. With luck, they should see some tabletop action soon.
Christmas this years looks as if it will be somewhat better than last years. We are going out to lunch at a local restaurant, and judging by what they said to us on the phone yesterday, it will be less full than it was the last time we ate there. Apparently they have had over 50% of their bookings cancelled since last weekend, thanks to the current pandemic.
Have a great day. Stay safe and stay well,
Bob
