Help for Heroes

In the wake of yesterday's murderous attack in Woolwich on the as-yet-unnamed young soldier, ones feels that one wants to do something ... but what?

Nigel Drury (a long-time friend and fellow member of Wargame Developments) has made an excellent suggestion ... and that is to give our support to HELP FOR HEROES. The murdered soldier was wearing one of the charity's sweatshirts when he was killed, and it seems an appropriate response.

  1. Sean,

I thought so, which is why I mentioned it.

    All the best,

  3. Good job Bob, this appaling incident should encourage us all to new efforts. At the Broadside Wargame show we give a free trade space to the British Legion; they seem to miss out a lot since the start of Help for Heroes. All these groups need our support.

  4. I was pleased to see Cavalier supporting Combat Stress.

  5. It's amazing that you can't even wear your country's uniform in the capitol of your own country meters from your barracks. It's even more amazing that it's not possible to comment. Yes, active duty personnel, vets, and military retired need your support. Unsaid is the support that military dependents also need. I am happy to see the outpouring of sympathy and support from compassionate people.

  6. Alan Abbey,

What another excellent idea! The British Legion has been doing excellent work for over ninety years, and they still need our support as well.

    All the best,

    Bob

  7. Nigel Drury,

I must admit that I had not realised that when I visited Cavalier this year... but I am pleased that they did.

It is another reason to continue to support Cavalier.

    All the best,

    Bob

  8. CoastConFan,

The increased level of support that is being given to service personnel - and their families - is encouraging to see, and I suspect that soldiers will continue to wear their uniforms in public with pride ... and with the support of the vast majority of the UK's population.

    They are all heroes.

    All the best,

    Bob
