Nugget 303: A short delay due to technical difficulties

Yesterday afternoon I went to the printer to collect the latest issue of THE NUGGET ... but unfortunately it was not ready for collection.

It appears that the machine used to reproduce the journal has broken down several times during the week, and despite three attempts to repair it, it was still not functioning properly. As a result they have to use a much older and slower machine to do all the reproductive work, and a backlog has developed. They were actually printing the last batch of THE NUGGET when I arrived to collect it, but it still had to be collated, folded, stapled and trimmed.

I hope to be able to collect the completed print run later today or tomorrow morning and to post it out by Monday.

It is worth noting that in the twenty five years since this particular printer took on the job of reproducing THE NUGGET, this is the first time there has ever been a delay due to technical problems.

Certainly your Printing Company has had a splendid reliable record- 25 years without a glitch -is something to be very proud of in any industry- well done! Cheers. KEV.

    1. Kev Robertson,

The printer I use has been around for many, many years, and has a great track record for reliability and good service. At a time when local 'print shops' have come and gone, they have kept their client base by introducing new technology that has kept them competitive. They are not the cheapest ... but they are the best and give regular clients a discount on non-urgent print jobs.

      All the best,

      Bob
