Whilst on my way to a meeting at Harpenden this morning, I was able to listen to Annie Norman (of Bad Squiddo Games fame) talking about wargaming on BBC Radio 4’s WOMAN’S HOUR programme. She was interviewed by Jenni Murray, who showed a particular interest in models of a Viking shield maiden and Queen Elizabeth I at the time of her speech at Tilbury.
I understand that a recording of the programme is available to listen to online, and as it is one of the few instances when our hobby has been featured positively in the media, it is well worth listening to.

Annie and Bad Squiddo have a lot of good miniatures (although some (most?) might not appeal to non-fantasy gamers).

DeleteFrom the sound of the interview, her recent WW2 offerings (which include members of the Women's Land Army and Auxiliary Territorial Service) would certainly appeal to anyone playing VBCW or fighting an Operation Sealion scenario.

DeleteOh, yeah. She is doing some more historical figures for more "modern" conflicts. Something for VBCW and the like, as you mentioned.
