Ever since I bought my first Airfix model of the StuG III, it has been one of my favourite armoured fighting vehicles ... and when I discovered that Haynes had produced on of their manuals about it, I had to buy a copy.

A favourite of mine too Bob ever since I saw the Tamiya kit with Fallschirmjager sometime in the 1970's.
ReplyDeleteSteve J.,
DeleteI’m glad to know that I’m not the only fan of the StuG III!
All the best,
Bob
Me too. I remember a few years back when we visited the Hop Farm in Kent a few days before they were having one of the military history events and found we'd parked almost next to a StuG just the other side of a hedge. Made one appreciate the low sillouette.
ReplyDeleteNigel Drury,
DeleteThe StuG III is a very low slung vehicle when compared with its contemporaries. I’ve also seen one of the replicas built on the chassis of a FV432. It was very convincing ... until you counted the number of wheels!
All the best,
Bob
