I finally got my act together, and finished painting the Russian gunners that have been sitting on my work table for some time.
They will provide crews for eight artillery pieces, and will enable me to form at least two more Russian ‘formations in boxes’ for my Eastern Front/Great Patriotic War project.
(The figures were manufactured by Irregular Miniatures, and are 20mm-scale gun crews from their Really Useful Guns range.)
That is the first of my short-term aims achieved! Now onto the next!
They look good Bob. I like the unfussy style of the figures and the colour scheme.
ReplyDeleteMaudlin Jack Tar,
DeleteI use a very simple system. An Earth Brown topcoat, dry brushed with Sand to add some highlights. I then pick out the details (boots, shells, rifle stocks, rifle barrels, belts etc.), finishing with the hands and faces, and then the headgear.
All the best,
Bob
Excellent to see you making progress Bob. Small goals really help, which I try to do, but I don't always achieve them, but it's still fun trying.
ReplyDeleteSteve J.,
DeleteIt was good to achieve even this short-term goal ... and I’m already gearing up to achieve the next one on the list.
All the best,
Bob
Hi Bob,
ReplyDeleteIt is good to see that you have finished these Russian Artillery Crews- guess the re-think about Aims and Goals has paid dividends. Keep at it- as it'l soon be Christmas. Regards. KEV.
Kev Robertson (Kev),
DeleteIt was a pleasure to actually get something on my short list finished, and it has spurred me to start on the next item on my ‘to do’ list.
All the best,
Bob
Looking very tidy and well-organised as ever, Bob.
ReplyDeleteRegards, Chris.
Chris Kemp (Chris),
DeleteCheers! They are going to be used to provide gunners for at least a couple of Russian Rifle Divisions.
All the best,
Bob
