Sue and I just got back from our first cruise outside of the UK for nearly two years!
We went to Iberia aboard P&O's Ventura and enjoyed a real mixture of weather. We managed to visit Vigo (Spain), Lisbon (Portugal), Cartagena (Spain), and Cadiz (Spain), but due to bad weather we missed both Malaga (Spain) and Gibraltar. In the latter case, we actually got alongside the dock ... but the mooring lines parted twice due to the 60 knot winds hitting the side of the ship, and in the end the visit was aborted.
I will be writing a longer blog post about what we saw, did, and ate(!), but first we must unpack!
Sounded great Bob!
ReplyDeleteRay Rousell,
DeleteIt was a great twelve days!
All the best,
Bob
Glad you had such a great trip. Looking forward to hearing about it.
ReplyDeleteTradgardmastare,
DeleteWe had a great time, and I hope to be writing my blog post about our cruise later this week.
All the best,
Bob
Great Bob, glad you've made it abroad again, despite the weather! Hoping for our next (twice postponed) cruise next summer.
ReplyDeleteMartin Rapier,
DeleteI had not realised how much I enjoyed cruising (even in poor weather) until we went on this particular cruise. We had enjoyed our short cruises in and around the UK, but actually going to a foreign country was so different from what has become the COVID norm, that it was a tonic for both of us.
I hope that you manage to go on your cruise later this year.
All the best,
Bob
Congratulations it must have felt good!
ReplyDeleteRoss Mac,
DeleteWe have returned relaxed and refreshed ... and are all the better for having gone!
All the best,
Bob
