The first batch of figures for my FUNNY LITTLE WARS/PORTABLE WARGAME ARMY BLACK are finished ...
... and are already stored in their new home.
I am now waiting for some figures to be delivered from Irregular Miniatures, as these will fill in a few of the gaps in the painted figures that I already have. Once they are done, I can continue work on my ARMY BLACK
Those look very nice Bob and look forward to seeing this and similar forces develop:)
ReplyDeleteSteve J.,
DeleteCheers! Besides having enough figures to form a reasonably sized FLW/PW army, I have some painted ACW Union figures that will be a good starting point for a third army.
Creating FLW/PW armies is nice, simple project that I can do whilst working on my latest book.
All the best,
Bob
Bob,
ReplyDeleteYour bases turned out very well and the figures look superb. It will be interesting to see both Army Black and their opponents finished in 15mm. Good going there. Regards. KEV.
Kev Robertson (Kev),
DeleteI know that not everyone agrees with me, but I think that painting the edge of the bases and flocking them in a neutral colour enhances the look of my based units. I hope that I will eventually put together a number of FLW/PW imagi-nation armies.
All the best,
Bob
I agree about the bases. I also do mine in light sand with black edges. It helps frame the figures.
DeleteMartin Rapier,
DeleteThat is exactly the reason why I have adopted the use of neutral-coloured fine cork and black edging on these figure bases!
All the best,
Bob
Hi there Bob,
ReplyDeleteLooking very tidy indeed! I like the material you have based them with - crushed cork I believe - and do you have a preferred supplier for that? You will find out why later!
All the best,
DC
David Crook,
DeleteCheers! I use fine powdered cork to flock my figure bases. My preferred option is Javis Scenic Scatter - Extra Fine Cork Chippings. It can be bought online from several retailers, including on eBay.
All the best,
Bob
Excellent Army Black chaps! They certainly look the part. I await the new recruits with interest.
ReplyDeleteTradgardmastare,
DeleteCheers! I hope that my order from Irregular Miniatures arrives soon so that I can begin to fill in the gaps.
All the best,
Bob
Bob -
ReplyDeleteIf I had an Army of Grauheim, that is exactly what they would look like! Just the thing!
Cheers,
Ion
Archduke Piccolo (Ion),
DeleteCheers! The 'reinforcements' have now arrived from Irregular Miniatures, and that will allow me to fill in some of the gaps ... once I have painted them.
All the best,
Bob
