I have managed to fix enough figures to bases to form three FUNNY LITTLE WARS/PORTABLE WARGAME units for my ARMY BLACK. I have finished varnishing them and they are now ready for the next stage of the basing process.
The next stage is to paint the edges of the bases matt black, and then to flock the base with finely ground cork. The final stage in the process is to fix a thin piece of magnetic rubber to the underside of the base so that the base will ‘fix’ itself to the thin steel sheet that lines the bottom of the storage box the figures will be kept in.
Bob,
ReplyDeleteNice work there on 'Army Black' -well done! The Infantry look like Irregular Miniatures in 15mm- splendid. Looking forward to seeing how you develop this Project. Hope your fully recovered from your Operation and that your feeling 100% back to normal and having all good days now. Regards. KEV.
Kev Robertson (Kev),
DeleteCheers! You are right about the figures; they are early Irregular Miniatures. A bit chunky but from what I can remember, they were quite simple to paint.
I have the occasional minor problem with my stoma, but other than that, I seem to have fully recovered from my operation.
All the best,
Bob
Hello there Bob,
ReplyDeleteThey look very tidy indeed and certainly pretty good for 36 year old figures! Are you edging the bases to suit the army?
All the best,
DC
David Crook,
DeleteCheers! They survived very well in storage ... and now they are going to have their day in the sun ... or at least, on my tabletop!
I have taken to sealing the edges of MDF bases with a couple of coats of paint, and chose black for all of them. I certainly could colour-code the bases, but for the moment, I’m going to stick to black.
All the best,
Bob
I just purchased Funny Little Wars, Little Campaigns, and the Graphic Supplements in PDF and plan to pour over them this weekend, they look great.
ReplyDeletePanzer63,
