(Apologies to Disney’s film ‘Mary Poppins’ for misquoting the title of one of the film’s songs.)
I finally got my two Blériot aircraft out of their boxes and ‘flying’ across some terrain … in this case, part of the Fobbing Marsh on my MUCKING FLATS AND FOBBING MARSH LIGHT RAILWAY model layout.
I am thinking about adding some markings to the model aircraft so that I can distinguish which of my imagi-nations they belong to, but at present that is not very high on my list of ‘things to do’.
Lovely models Bob. Are you planning to allow them to drop bombs or are they just for scouting and the occasional mid-air duel?
ReplyDeleteMaudlin Jack Tar,
DeleteI am certainly thinking about allowing the aircraft to drop small bombs and for the pilots to shoot at each other. It will certainly add a bit of variety to a battle!
All the best,
Bob
BOB,
ReplyDeleteThe Planes look very good- something about obtaining ready made models- a bit of a treat. You'l soon be moving closer to gaming now that you have gained access to your Hobby Room. Cheers. KEV.
Kev Robertson (Kev),
DeleteThese die-cast models are the right size to go with my figures and are ready-to-use straight from the box.
I actually did a bit of figure painting today ... something that I've not be able to do for over six months! I hope that these will be the first of many!
All the best,
Bob
They look great Bob, decals will certainly finish them off nicely.
ReplyDeleteDonnie McGibbon,
DeleteI agree. The different nations need to have some sort of markings on their aircraft to identify them.
All the best,
Bob
Well, they certainly "up the atmosphere" of your table, flying those kites.
ReplyDeleteEd M,
DeleteCheers! I’m hoping that they’ll add another dimensions to my games.
All the best,
Bob
Your railway layout makes a great backdrop for a photograph, Bob. If you don't apply national markings, one of them could do with a personal emblem for the pilot, to help tell them apart. Or just a letter or number.
ReplyDeleteYou could probably use almost any left-over decal from another model and explain it that way.
Pompey Dave,
DeleteMy model railway layout was the only terrain I had to hand … and it worked well as a backdrop in this instance.
I’d not thought about adding a number or emblem to these models … but it makes a lot of sense. Thanks for suggesting it.
All the best,
Bob
Attractive looking and stylish aircraft (prepainted, bonus!)
ReplyDeleteWhich decals / roundels is always an interesting challenge when going ImagiNations or non-historical.
Mark Man of TIN,
DeleteI’m not sure what markings I’m going to use. I may just paint the wingtips in distinctive colours or I might add some other markings.
All the best,
Bob
